Center of Counseling
Introduction:
Ain Shams university has the pleasure to announce you that a center of counseling has been established in Faculty of Education, Roxi, Heliopolis, Cairo.
We have the pleasure to cooperate with you in providing psychological, social and administrative consultations. This will include the following:
· Organizing training programs and courses for psychologist and sociologist who deal with normal and exceptional children.
· Organizing programs in administrative psychology, vocational and psychological rehabilitation for employees in various fields.
· Designing tools and measurements for psychological, vocational and administrative counseling process.
· Administering researches in the various fields of counseling providing counseling service for cases suffering from behavioral disturbances.
· Holding local Arab and international seminars, conferences and symposium in the field of counseling.
· The establishment of channels with Egyptian, Arab and international universities and research centers for exchanging information.
· Issuing a scientific magazine for counseling.
· Planning, manipulating and evaluating counseling programs in the following fields (Administrative and vocational counseling programs- Therapeutic counseling programs- Counseling programs for exceptional children- Counseling programs for youth, children, families and those who are old aged- Marriage counseling programs-Counseling programs for autistic children)
· Training courses for preparing families and specialists to work in the following fields ( speech therapy - Deafness- Difficulties of learning- Dealing with abnormal ( exceptional) children.
Aims of counseling programs:
1- Self actualization: These programs help the individual to actualize his identity to a satisfactory degree.
2- Achieving adjustment: making some alterations and amendments on the social behavior so as to reach equilibrium between the individual the environment.
3- Preparing specialists and families to deal with exceptional children.
4- Achieving vocational adjustment: Some counseling programs aim to assist workers in various vocational fields. This helps to increase their productivity.
5- Achieving administrative adjustment. Some programs aim to help workers who will be promoted to a higher position or those who will change their position to achieve administrative adjustment with their colleagues, employees and employers.
6- Counseling behavioral disturbance cases at work .These programs help the workers to overcome their psychological and adjustment problems inside and outside work.
7- Handling behavioral disturbance in all ages.
8- Handling youth behavioral disturbance - These programs aim to enhance young people's self concepts and their recognition of foreign destructive trends.
